President and CEO, AMCOL International
Ryan F. McKendrick joined American Colloid Co. in 1977 as a sales representative for the Environmental Products Division, and became division manager in 1978. He served as Building Materials Division manager from 1982-1987. McKendrick was a division vice president-general manager for Waste Management of North America from 1993 to1994. He rejoined AMCOL International's CETCO subsidiary in 1994 as manager of international sales, and later that year was appointed vice president. McKendrick was appointed executive vice president in March 1998 and president in November 1998. In 2010, McKendrick became the chief operating officer for AMCOL. On January 1, 2011 Ryan was named president and chief executive officer for AMCOL. He holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Northwestern University and a master's degree in business administration, marketing, from Northwestern's Kellogg Graduate School of Management in Evanston, Ill.

Donald W. Pearson joined AMCOL International as vice president and chief financial officer on May 19, 2008. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Augustana College, Rock Island, Illinois and a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Chicago. He is a certified public accountant.

Gary L. Castagna joined American Colloid Co. in 1990 as internal audit manager. In 1991, he transferred to Chemdal as controller. He was promoted to vice president of finance in 1992. In June 1993, he was named managing director of Chemdal Ltd. In August 1997, Castagna was promoted to President of Chemdal International Corp. After the June 2000 sale of Chemdal Castagna worked as a consultant to AMCOL. In April of 2001, Castagna became chief financial officer for AMCOL. In May 2008, he transitioned from CFO to president of Global Minerals. He received his bachelor's degree in accounting and finance from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He has also completed graduate courses at University of Michigan, and is a certified public accountant.

Patrick E. Carpenter joined CETCO in 1992 and has held a number of management positions for both Building Materials and Lining Technologies product lines. Carpenter was promoted to president of CETCO in January 2012. He holds bachelor’s degrees in Business and Speech Communication from Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, Illinois.
Senior VP, AMCOL / President, CETCO Oilfield Services Company
Michael Johnson joined CETCO Oilfield Services Company in 1997 as a group manager. Johnson was promoted to division manager in 1999, promoted to vice president of CETCO Oilfield Services Company in 2001, and promoted to president of CETCO Oilfield Services in 2004. In 2010, Johnson was promoted to vice president of AMCOL. Prior to joining CETCO Oilfield Services Company Johnson was president and part owner of Gulf States Environmental. He holds a bachelor’s degree in zoology from Ohio University, a master’s degree in immunology from Mississippi State University, and a doctorate degree in veterinary medicine from Ohio State University, as well as a master’s degree in business administration from Tulane University.
